The Future of ScienceAI-First, Trustworthy, Human-Steered
Two days of talks and panels on how Large Language Models are revolutionizing the way we do research, organised by the UKP Lab, the Zuse School ELIZA and the ELLIS Unit at TU Darmstadt.
Friday also features a special session on the future of AI: with the next report of Stanford's One Hundred Year Study on Artificial Intelligence (AI100) upcoming, we revisit the predictions of its last report and ask where AI goes next.

The Future of Science: AI-First, Trustworthy, Human-Steered
The UKP Lab, together with the Konrad Zuse School of Excellence ELIZA and the ELLIS Unit Darmstadt, is organizing a two-day international symposium at TU Darmstadt bringing together an outstanding lineup of speakers and panelists from leading institutions worldwide across invited talks on recent advances in large language models, multimodal and multilingual systems for expert domains, AI for Science, and the open problems of faithfulness, uncertainty, safety, and societal impact.
The program features two panel discussions: "No Computer Scientist in the Loop? Is AI for Science Going to Replace Us Soon?" and "Our Main Priorities in Developing the Methodology of AI for Research."
A particular highlight will be a special session on the future of AI. With the next report of Stanford's One Hundred Year Study on Artificial Intelligence (AI100) upcoming, a fireside chat revisits predictions from its last report five years ago, discusses how AI has evolved since, and speculates about the future.
